In the year of 1915 the Cedar Branch Missionary Baptist Church was organized, under the leadership of Chairman Deacon William E. Jackson and Pastor S.R. Eagles. Prior to the Cedar Branch Missionary Baptist Church, Our fore parents walked to Bristol Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Flag Patch Missionary Baptist Church, and New Light A.M.E Church. They went to these church to worship and praise God and fellowship. Evidently, after seeing and yielding to the vision, our fore parents set out organize now what we call today the Cedar Branch Missionary Baptist Church. Other deacons at that time were Deacon Clarence G. Hemingway, Deacon Joe Jackson, and Deacon Azar A. Hemingway.
The first service began under a pine top shelter with a dirt floor. Then worship services was moved to the old school house. The Deacons and their wives along with the elderly women and children with shoes in their hands, walking to church with old rag in hand to wipe off their feet after getting to church. Then, in 1957, under the leadership of Chairman Deacon Clarence G. Hemingway and Pastor W.T Bellamy, Cedar Branch Missionary Baptist Church was rebuilt. This block building was church to Cedar Branch until present. With additions throughout the years and the adding of bricks.
